About Mary Crafford

Mary Thomas Crafford (Crawford) took her mother's surname as her parents did not marry (they did get a marriage bond on 5 June 1776). She is clearly named in the will of her father, Micajah Thomas, Jr., as follows:


Natural daughter: Mary Crawford daughter of Elizabeth Crawford dec of Surry County, Va.- 1,500 acres on north side of the Roanoke in Northampton County, NC., and many named Negroes; if she dies before marriage reversion to dau Margaret Thomas Jackson, then to Mourning Thomas Jackson, then to Temperance Thomas Jackson.
