In Walworth, Wis., Oct. 22d, 1864, of consumption, Mrs. Mary Maxson, widow of the late Dea. Alfred Maxson, in the 78th year of her age. Sister Maxson was long widely known for her domestic tranquility, retiring modest, and unbounded hospitality. It was not till late in the afternoon of life that she gained confidence to confess her Saviour before the world, and follow his example in baptism; but though grace she finally performed that duty, which almost all her Christian acquaintance thought she ought to have done at an earlier day. She has gone, we trust, to join her beloved kindred in Christ, where parting will be no more; and has left a numerous family connection and Christian friends to mourn, though not without hope. S. Coon
