Ebenezer Brewer m. Mary Chase, d/o Col. Jonathan Chase and Thankful Sherman, "born between 1772 and 1775" {sic, see following comments]. Regarding husband, "early in the revolutionary struggle moved with other loyalists to Sidney, Cape Breton, where he remained until after 1787. It is said that he returned to the United States where he died before 1800." Son Ebenezer, b. Sidney Cape Breton 1789. "His parents dying when he was quite young, he was reared in the home of a relative of his mother."
[Note: Clearly, Mary was not born between 1772 and 1775 since Thankful d. 1768. She is often called the third daughter of Jonathan, but it is not known if this documented information, or merely derived based on assumptions. Her birth has been estimated about 1762 based on her probable marriage being prior to her husband going to Cape Breton "early in the revolutionary struggle", and to fit in a gap between siblings, and assuming the birth dates given might be exactly 10 years off?]
