In the 1810 United States Census, widow Polly Sever was a head of household in Worcester, Worcester County, Massachusetts. The household included one male aged 10 to 16, one male aged 16 to 26, one female aged 16 to 26, one female aged 26 to 45 and one female over age 45 (1810 United States Census Population Schedule, Worcester, Worcester County, Massachusetts, Page 009, FHL Microfilm 0,205,630). A death notice was published in the Columbian Centinel newspaper, dated 20 January 1821. It reads: "Seavers, Mary (Mrs.) wife of Wm. Seavers, d. in Worcester, aged 61." Mary (Chandler) Sever died testate, having written a will on 30 May 1814. The will of Mary (Chandler) Sever reads (from Worcester County (Massachusetts) Probate Packet A-52909): "In the Name of God Amen - "I, Mary Sever, under impression of the uncertainty of human life, and in the hope of the Christian, do constitute the following to be my last Will and Testament. "Imprimus, I direct that all my just debts are paid by my Executrix, hereafter to be named. "Item: I give and bequeath to my grandson, William Sever Lincoln, one hundred dollars. "Item: I give and bequeath to my son, William James Sever, one Hundred Dollars, two beds, one desk, three pair of sheets, my silver ladle, pepper box and large spoons. "Item: All the rest and residue of property which I now possess, I give to my Daughter, Ann Warren Sever. Should she die unmarried, it is my will in this event that the property bequeathed to her, be given to my son, William, above mentioned. "Item: The property which I may receive on the settlement of the Estate of my late brother, Samuel Chandler by virtue of his will, I desire may be divided into three simple shares, one of which I hereby give to my grandson, above named, William Sever Lincoln, one ot my son, William James Sever, and the thurd to my daughter, Ann Warren. "I appoint my daughter, Ann Warren Sever to be the Executrix of this, my last will and Testament hereby removing all wills by me heretofore made and Executors appointed. In witness whereof I have unto set my hand and Seal this Thirtieth day of May in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and fourteen.
