Mary Carpenter, born August 1650, presents no special difficulty. She married first, Joseph Hickok or Hickox, born ca. 1645, died at Woodbury, Conn., in 1687, by whom she had five children [Jacobus, Families of Old Fairfield, 1:274] including Joseph "Heacox" who was named by Mrs. Brunson as son of her daughter Mary Hinman. Mary married, second, Samuel Hinman, born at Stratford, Conn., the last of June 1658, died at Woodbury, Conn., 7 Nov. 1713, son of Edward and Hannah (Stiles) Hinman, by whom she had no children.
