Mary Butcher’s origins have yet to be established. Her first confirmed sighting is on 2nd February 1761, when she married Robert Bastock at the church of St Nicholas in Warwick.

Mary and Robert went on to have six children baptised in Warwick between 1762 and 1781, all baptised in the parish of St Nicholas there.

Mary died in 1805, being buried at St Nicholas’s Church in Warwick on 14th April 1805. Her burial record does not say how old she was, but she and Robert had been married for 44 years. Robert survived her by nearly twelve years.
