- ↑ Source:Hudson, Charles. History of the Town of Lexington, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, from Its First Settlement to 1868, p. 45, lists among the children of Francis Bowman and Lydia Stone: Mary, m. (---) Morse. Hudson makes some passing comments about Francis' will in 1744, and while a complete abstract is not given, it is suspected the will is the basis for this identification of her husband. A search for records involving a Mary Morse in Lexington in the first part of the 1700s turns up Mary Moores, wife of Thomas. Under Moore, p. 438, Hudson says Thomas Moore m. Mary ---, who d. 11 Nov 1782 in her 84th year. This death date is found in Source:Brown, Francis H. Lexington Epitaphs : A Copy of Epitaphs in the Old Burying-Grounds of Lexington, Massachusetts, p. 79, while Lexington VRs, p. 188, says widow Mary d. 8 Nov 1782, age 81. The estimated birth date comes from the speculative idea that Mary Bowman married Thomas Moore/Moores and the age given on the gravestone is hers. At the current time, there is no evidence this is correct.
