Mary Bastock was baptised on 8th January 1863 at the parish church of St Paul in Warwick. She was the daughter of Elizabeth Bastock, formerly Reynolds, and her husband William Bastock, a plasterer. Mary appears in the 1871 census living with her parents and siblings at 14 West Rock in Warwick. By 1881 she had left home and was working as a domestic servant for a farmer at Chesterton, a village a little way out of Warwick.

Mary has yet to be traced after 1881.

    Although her birth was registered in the first quarter of 1864, it appears she was baptised in December 1863 - presumably her parents did not register her birth until she was a few weeks old.
