  3.   Middlesex Deeds Vol. 18, p. 125, dated 25 Aug 1716, James Smedly of Concord and Mary Smedly his wife sell to Joseph Barrett of s'd town all real estate that "was setled upon Mary: Smedly aboves'd: Wife of s'd James Smedly by a county Court held at Cambridge Aprill 2: one thous Six hundred & Seventy two" which has not already been sold or given to him. This is undoubtedly the remaining real estate from the estate of Oliver Barrett, Mary's brother, as Middlesex Probate 1521 shows that on "2. 9. 1671" [2 Nov 1671], Mary Barratt sister of the above named Oliver Barrat ... granted administration on her said Brothers estate".

    Also Vol. 25, p. 333 27 Mar 1700: Seven grantees, including "James Smedley [selling] that which was Oliver Barretts", granted to Oliver Barrett as one of thirteen people in the year 1663, sell their shares to Richard Parks Jr. Signed by James Smedley and Mary Smedley.
