Mrs. Jacob Elliott - Fennimore Times - 7/4/1923 - P1 C6 Marion Elizabeth Elliott, oldest daughter of Stephen A. and Maria Jacobs Arnold, was born near Peoria, Ill., June 11, 1848, and departed this life June 24, 1923, at her home near Fennimore, Wis., having reached the age of 75 years, 13 days. When about 8 years of age she with her parents came to Linden, Wis., later to Mt. Ida township, where she lived the remainder of her life, excepting about a year in Kansas. On Dec. 8, 1967, she was united in marriage to Jacob W. Elliott. To this union were born five children, two of whom died in infancy, and one, Lillie, attained the age of 19 years. She was a devoted wife and mother, and will be sadly missed by her loved ones and also her neighbors, who so kindly ministered to her during her sickness and death. In her youth she was affiliated with the Methodist church, and she kept the faith to the end. She lived an upright, noble life, and was loved and respected by all who knew her, and especially by her family and neighbors who knew her best. She is survived by her husband and two daughters: Mrs. Paul J. Bode of Chamberlain, S. D. and Mrs. W. Marburger of Lancaster. and six grandchildren and other relatives and friends. She was the last of her family to pass away, her brother, Omar J. Arnold, having preceded her in death seven years ago, and her sister Katherine also preceded her in death a good many years ago. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the M. E. church, Rev. Geo H. R. Kershaw officiating, with burial at the Prairie cemetery.
