Mrs. Mary Vachon Dies; Rites Set - Widow of Alphonso Vachon, Mrs. Mary J. Vachon, 72, of Bluffton Route 4 died at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Clinic Hospital. She had been ill five days and death was attributed to a heart condition. Born March 9, 1900 in Bluffton, she was a daughter of Hort and LuLu Miller Acton. Her marriage to Mr. Vachon, who died Feb 28, 1956, took place in Bluffton on Aug. 12, 1920. Mrs Vachon was a member of the American Legion Auxillary. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Schmitt of Decatur and Mrs. Betty Schwartz of Bluffton; a sister, Mrs. Madelyn Baltzer of Detroit, Mich; a brother, James D. Acton of Burbank, Calif., six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at Goodwin Funeral Home, where services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Max Andrew officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
