Marvin lived in Lawrence County, Missouri. He was educated in the publicschools of Lawrence County, having attended Hoberg, Reithel, & Freistatt.

Marvin served in the 86th Infantry Division from February 1, 1943 untilFebruary 19, 1946. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal in the RhinelandBattle. Marvin has worked for Ely-Walker of Verona, Wilks Lumber Companyof Verona and Monett, and as a sales representative for Gas ServiceCompany of Monett. He has served Lawrence County as Sheriff since 1964,until the present time 1973.

Marvin and Manda (Mattlage) Quade have a daughter, Shirley Ann Quade, nowliving in Verona, Missouri.

Marvin Quade later married Freda Gray, the daughter of Riley Thomas andMartha Julinda (Adams) Gray.

Marvin was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Freistatt and theBoard of Directors of the Missouri Sheriffs' Association; a member of theLegislative Committee of the National Sheriffs' Association; a Chartermember of the Verona Lion's Club; a member of the American Legion ofFreistatt; a member of the V.F.W. of Marionville; a member of the RotaryClub of Mt. Vernon; and organized the first uniformed Junior DeputyPatrol in the United States.
