SLIGO - Marvin Henry Altman, 77, of Sligo RD2, a native of Clarion County, died at 4:30 a.m. Tuesda in Brookville Hospital.
Born May 5, 1892, in Beaver Township, he was a son of Charles B. and Clara Knight Altman.
He was married September 8, 1917, to the former Carrie Pearl Myers, and she preceded him in death November 12, 1962.
Mr. Altman was a member of Mt. Joy United Methodist Church and Sligo IOOF Lodge No. 3*7.
Surviving are a son, Charles T. Altman of Sligo RD1; six sisters, Mrs. Charles (Bertha) Neely of Knox, Mrs. Ira (Myrtie) Burns of Knox RD, Mrs. Walt (Bernice) Elder of Kane, Mrs. Harry (Daisy) Beals of Bakerstown, Mrs. Lester (Aida) Hook of Burgettstown and Mrs. Albert (Melda) Wile of Franklin; four brothers, Alvin of Knox, R**e of Knox RD, Morris of Clarington and George Altman of Kingsville, Ohio; and seven grandchildren.
A son, Melvin L. Altman, two sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Hawk Funeral Home in Sligo.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Rev. Wayne Weldon, pastor of Callensburg Church of God, will officiate.
Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Sligo.
