History of Huntington CO Rock Creek Township (punblished 1887)

    Martin Brubaker was the son of Jacob Brubaker, who came to the Unit ed States from Ger and settled in Lancaster CO  PA.  Jacob s ubsequently moved to OH, and died in Perry CO  about 1824.  Martin marri ed Nancy Neal in 1819.  In November, 1838, he purchased a tract on la nd in Rock Creek Twp Huntington CO  IN.  His wife died in February, 185 1, and the following September his second marriage was solemnized with Mr s. Caroline (Stevens) McMullen, who bore him two children. Mr. Brubaker w as a man of many excellent qualities, a successful business man and sto od in high esteem with all who came in contact with him.  He was born on t he 17th of May, 1779, and departed this life on the 29th of December, 1863 .
