Died at his home at 210 West High Avenue, Oskaloosa, Iowa at 2:50 pm after an illness of eleven weeks' duration of cancer of the stomach. His grand-daughter (Unknown from which of his two sons), Lillie Henderson Bacon kept house for him since the death of his wife. He moved to Iowa in the year 1854, having been a resident of Mahaska since. He is the last of thirteen children (not all have been identified). On coming to Iowa he followed his grocery business for several years, but of late years he did carpenter work, giving that up do to failing health about two years before his death. Interment in Forest Cemetery.
