Martha Magdaline Walker, 84, formerly of Wabash, died at 12:46 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 5, 2001) at the United Methodist Memorial Home, Warren, where she was a resident. Miss Walker retired in 1979 after 34 years as bookkeeper and office secretary for the Wabash County REMC. She was a member of Wabash Order of Eastern Star Chapter 90. She had been a lifetime resident of Wabash County until August of 1992. She was born May 25, 1917, in Wabash to William Edwards Walker and Nellie Hipskind Walker. She is survived by four nieces, Phyllis Henderson, Marion, Mrs. Dennis (Margaret) Hall, Chandler, Ariz., Elizabeth Myers Macinata, Boise, Idaho, and Mrs. Larry (Carol) Stouffer, Wabash; and two nephews, Jerry Benbow, Marion, and Robert Benbow, Montpelier. She was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Walker; and two sisters, Marian Myers and Julia Benbow. Calling will be held from noon until 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown & Son Chapel, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren. Graveside rites will follow at the Falls Cemetery, Wabash, with the family presiding.
