Mrs. Martha Ann Foist, widow of the late Randolph Foist, died Friday night at her home in Jennings county, two miles east of the Jackson county line, after an extended illness. She was born sixty- six years ago in Kentucky and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wesley Taylor. She moved to this state when quite young and had lived in this vicinity for many years. Mrs. Foist was the mother of fifteen children, fourteen of whom are living. All of them, with the exception of one son, are married and live in this vicinity. She also leaves seventy-one grandchildren, and twelve great-granchildren. One son died last October. The funeral occurred Sunday morning at Brown's Corner, and the remains were interred at the Reddington cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. G. M. Shutts, of Seymour.
