Smoke Ferree CD - November 2004 Sullivan Democrat, June 17, 1898 One of the oldest and most respected ladies of the county died Friday night. Mrs. S.H. Ridgeway was the victim of erysipelas after a long and painful illness. She is better known to the older people of the county as Aunt Patty Ferree. Mrs. Ridgeway was born November 16, 1825, the daughter of Parker and Nancy St. Clair. She was first married to George W. Ferree who died some eight years ago. No children were born to them, but they reared 8 children, among whom were - William Ferree, George M. Dallas, James M. Lang, Ida Mason, Harry Orbill and Jean Buckley. Four years ago she was married to S. H. Ridgeway. Burial in the Center Ridge Cemetery. References
