Martha M. Wank

Martha M. Wank, 86, of New Riegel, died Wednesday evening Nov. 24, 200 4, at The OSU Medical Center in Columbus.


Mrs. Wank was born Feb. 18, 1918, in Seneca CO and was the daught er of the late Albert and Lucy (Hoffbauer) Mathias.

On Feb. 18, 1939, she married Harold M. Wank of New Riegel. He preceded h er in death May 5, 1981. She is survived by: daughters, Joanne (Marshall) Morgan of Huron, Irene (E dwin) Stocker of Columbus, and Carol Wank of New York City, N.Y.; a son, E van (Ann) Wank of New Riegel; grandchildren, Michelle Wear, Eric Morgan, L eslie Morgan, Ed Stocker, Jon Stocker and Jeff Wank; and six great-grandso ns. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Herman a nd Eugene Mathias; and a sister, Alma Bum.

Mrs. Wank and her husband started farming in the 1940s and continued unt il his death in 1981. She belonged to St. Boniface Catholic Church and i ts Rosary Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella and enjoyed playing card s, bird watching, fishing, reading and visiting with the sick and shut-ins .

Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. today, Nov. 28, 2004, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Ma ck Funeral Home, where a rosary will be prayed at 7:45 p.m. A funeral Ma ss will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at St. Boniface Catholic Chur ch, New Riegel, with the Rev. Ronald A. Shock officiating. A Rosary wi ll be prayed 15 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at St. Bonif ace Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Boniface Catholic Church or Tiffin-Seneca Pub lic Library.
