Marshall Jones married Scytha Reno in 1812. They had 12 children. Marshall Jones, Sr. was born 1796 in Va. and died June 6, 1861 in Pendleton County, Ky. He married Scythia Reno April 20, 1812 in Bourbon County, Ky. She was the daughter of Zeley Reno and Mary Chinn. Zeley was a Revolutionary Soldier (Private and Sargent), a Minute Man, from Prince William County, Va, under Lafayette and in the campaign against the Shawnee Indians under Col Benjamin Logan. Zeley was the 4th son of Lewis Reno and Elizabeth Whitledge. Mary Chinn's father was Charles Chinn. The Chinn family are from England. The Reno family is from France. Back to Marshall Jones family. Scythia Reno was born 1805 in Virginia and died July 1867 in Pendleton co. When Marshall died, he left his widow Scythia and 12 children: Lewis A., Charles, Christopher, Simeon, Gaden, Alfred, Marshall Jr., George Washington, Clark, Harvey, Bailess, Mary--married to Samuel Brock. Marshall and Scythia were on the register of the Silas Baptist Church Bourbon County Ky, Marshall was received by Baptism Feb 1, 1823, and Mary Reno from Cooper's Run Sept 3, 1802, Zeley Reno was granted a letter from that church in March of 1819. Marshall and Scythia deeded over to their son George Washington Jones 100 acres in March 1852 on Crooked and Fork Lick Creek, Pendleton County, Ky. I hope this helps.
