Marlene Jane Laughner, 76, of South Beaver Township, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Shenango on the Green, New Wilmington, PA. She passed peacefully with her family at her side after a brief illness.
She was born May 16, 1944 to the late John and Olga Birnesser. She lived her entire life in South Beaver Township.
She graduated from Providence Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for Dr. L.P. Atwell, and for Dr's Cuddy, Pupi and Thompson. She spent the majority of her career at Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehab, formerly known as Elmcrest.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Birnesser in 2013; and by her husband of 50 years, William G. Laughner on September 10, 2018.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters and their spouses, Laurie and Dan McCracken of Bloomsburg, PA, Jodie and Larry Aikins of Hermitage, PA, and Christine and Mike Sylvester of New Castle, PA. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren who loved and adored her, Eric, Allison, and Emily McCracken, Austin Aikins and his fiancée Monika, Nate and Hannah Aikins, and Domenic and Maryn Sylvester. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Pat Birnesser; and sisters and brothers-in-law, James Laughner, Barbara and Lou Magnotta, Robert and Linda Laughner, and Becky and Keith Dunbaugh. She also leaves behind her animal friends Lucy, Roxy, Ava, Rosco, Flash and Mocha.
