Mark Davis died at his home in Marietta at 7 p.m. Tuesday,
February 25, 1908, aged seventy-nine years, seven months and seven days. He was born in the state of Kentucky and came to this county fifty-five years ago and has resided here ever since. He was an industrious, honest, upright citizen and was widely known in the southern part of the county. He was married to Miss Sarah A. Lemons in 1856, who with their four sons and two daughters, survive him. The children are Lewis, George, William, Charles and Mrs. Lillie Barker and Mrs. Minnie Cowan. The funeral services will be held at the Marietta M.E. Church at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 27, conducted by Rev. Jones, the pastor. Interment will be made in the Miller Cemetery, in charge of Edwards & Hageman.
