Marjorie (Truman) Backes, 88, of Endicott, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 19, 2013.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Joseph; her parents, Charles and Gladys Truman; her grandson, Nathaniel Backes; her brother, Gordon Truman; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Faye Backes.
She is survived by her son, James Backes; her daughter-in-law, Deborah (Booth) Backes; her grandson, Cameron Backes; a dear nephew, Tim (Roberta) Truman and family; sister-in-law, Loretta Thurston.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Endicott, a veteran of the US Navy serving during WWII, and a retired employee of General Electric with 30 years of service. She was a great mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
