Obituary: KAHN, MARJORIE DELAUNE
A retired teacher and librarian with the Assumption Parish school system for 43 years, she died at 9:40 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 1996, in Belle Rose. She was 86, a resident of Belle Rose and native of Napoleonville. Visiting at St. Jules Catholic Church, Belle Rose, 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Tuesday, celebrated by the Rev. M. Jeffrey Bayhi and the Rev. Chito Palang. Entombment in Ascension Catholic Mausoleum. Survived by two sisters, Elaine T. and Lois M. Delaune; and a brother, Donald Cecil Delaune, all of Baton Rouge. Preceded in death by husband, Walter Kahn; parents, T.J. and Martha Triche Delaune; a brother, Richard Delaune; and a sister, Madeline Delaune. Pallbearers will be John Beck, Stanley Sternfels, Scott Sternfels, Lionel Naquin, Charles Landry, Raymond Landry and Rusty Blanchard. Honorary pallbearer is Dr. Roland Sternfels. She earned a bachelor of arts and bachelor of science degrees in library science at LSU. She was a member of St. Jules Catholic Church and Ladies Altar Society. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Metanoia Inc., 749 East Blvd., Baton Rouge, 70802, Boys Town, Omaha, Neb., 68010, or Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. Ourso Funeral Home, Donaldsonville, in charge of arrangements.
