JAY -- Marion E. Hinkley, 79, died unexpectedly Monday morning at the Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington following a lingering illness.
She was born in Jay, Nov. 10, 1907, daughter of William and Winneford Russell Howes. She was a graduate of Jay High School and was married to Harold Harding in 1925. He died in 1932. She was married to Scott William Hinkley of Phillips on May 3, 1936, and he died May 23, 1967. Mrs. Hinkley was a housewife and also drove a schoobus for the the Town of Jay. She made her home on the Canton Point Road. She was a member of the Canton and Peru Senior Citizens and attended the Jay Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Bert (Joyce) Given and Mrs. Howard (Evelyn) Jackson, both of Jay; a step-son, Richard Hinkley of Derry, N.H.; seven grandchildren and two step-grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A son, Douglas, pre-deceased her in November of 1985. |
