    SOUTH SIOUX CITY | Marilyn L. Crumrine, 85, of South Sioux City passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at a local hospital.

    Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Graceland Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Jay Denne officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.

    Marilyn was born April 8, 1927, in Omaha, Neb., to Adolph and Lillian Murphy. She grew up and attended school in Sioux City, graduating from Central High School in 1945. She was married to James Crumrine for 23 years. Following her marriage, the couple lived in numerous places due to James' service placement.

    She was employed as a security officer at IBP for 8 1/2 years, Hancock Fabric, Schnelling & Schnelling answering service for physicians -- Omaha and child care.

    Marilyn enjoyed crocheting, visiting with neighbors and family members, sewing, crafts and shopping. She was always ready to go out on a moment's notice and was a River-Cade volunteer.

    Survivors include her children, Michael Crumrine of Tucson, Ariz., Terry Crumrine of Tucson, Janice Knight of Sioux City, Nancee Shoning of PeWaukee, Wis., and Sandra Tague and fiance Dennis Pasch of Sioux Falls, S.D.; five grandchildren, Jimmy Crumrine of Arizona, Kaylee Taylor of Omaha, Jennifer Tague of Denver, Colo., Edward Shoning Jr. of PeWaukee, and Nicholas Tague of Tucson; and one great-grandchild, Britton Taylor of Omaha.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; and former husband.
