Obituary copied from her Find-a-Grave memorial page: "Mrs. Marilla Holmes Culver died March 16th, after a ling illness of diabetes. Mrs. Culver was one of the best known and respected of the older residents, having always resided here. She was a widow of Freeman Culver, the well-known foundry man, who died about nine years ago. She is survived by a son, Walter, who resided with her, three daughters, Mrs. T. Wainwright of Oneonta, Mrs. R. J. Smith of Laurens, and Mrs. E. G. Horton of this place and one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Phebe Culver, also of this place and one sister, Mrs. Jerusha Hurbert of Otego besides numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her age was 77 years. The funeral was held at the house, the Rev. Mr. Coy of the Free Baptist church of which she had been a faithful and consistent member, officiating. Interment in West Oneonta cemetery.--Our West Oneonta Reporter."
