    Church Book Obituary - Mrs. Anna Maria Gemmer nee Michel died in faith in her Savior, February 24, 1903, at 7 a.m. of cancer of the liver. She was born February 17, 1839 in Laufenselden, Ducy of Nassau, Germany. In her 10th year she came to this country with her parents to Tuscarawas County, Ohio. There she was confirmed by pastor Schaefer in Canal Dover. In 1859 she married Mr. Henry Gemmer April 7, 1859 and moved to Dallas Township with him. Their marriage produced 10 children, 3 sons and 7 daughters of whom 1 son and 2 daughters died early in life and 2 sons and 5 daughters are still living. After having lived with her husband as a faithful wife and devout Christian, she became ill the beginning of October with cancer of the liver. She suffered much pain from then on, but bore the pain in Christian patience and prepared herself for going home by receiving holy communion several weeks before her death. She died at the age of 64 years, and 7 days, and was buried February 27, 1903 on the new cemetery. She leaves her sorrowing husband, 2 sons, 3 daughters, 13 grandchildren and 3 brothers.
