"Mrs. R.L. Fitzgerald. The entire community was shocked to hear Saturday evening of the death of Mrs. R.L. Fitzgerald. She had only been sick a few days, and her sudden death was a surprise to everyone. She was the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. McDowell, was born and grew to womanhood in Okolona, and was married here some few years since to Mr. R. L. Fitzgerald, a prominent cotton buyer. Beloved by all who knew her, a consistent Christian, she will be sadly missed by both friends and church. The burial services were conducted Monday morning in the Grace Episcopal church by Rev. J. L. Sykes and she was buried in the family plot in Odd Fellows Cemetery."
