Note: several researchers have serious doubts about the inclusion of Maria Susanna, wife of Abraham Weissmann, as a daughter of Jost Hite. There are no apparent primary records that prove that she was a daughter of Hite, and although it may be possible that she is Hite's daughter, it appears to be a matter of conjecture until records proving this relationship are found. There are records in Rev. John Casper Stoever's "Early Lutheran Baptisms and Marriages in Southeastern Pennsylvania" with Susanna Weissman and Jost Heydt, but no stated relationship is given in the records.
Some researchers believe that Maria Susanna may have died in 1754, some four years before Jost Hite had written his will, further complicating this issue.
JOHN ULRICH BUGER, (Opequon) [father] Buger - Rosina, b. Feb. 9, 1735; bap. May 16, 1735. Sponsors, Jost Heydt, Susanna Weismaenn and Barbara Schnaeppin. [Note: this record provides evidence that Susanna [Hite] Weissmann was married prior to February 1735, and born likely prior to 1718].
HENRY JONES, (Opequon) [father] Jones - Anna, b. April 9, 1735; bap. April 29, 1739. Sponsors, Jacob Neuschwanger and Susan Weismannin. [Note: this record again provides evidence that Susanna [Hite] Weissmann was married prior to this baptism in 1739].
