JAMES PARISH; 9 Apr 1766; New Orleans, Pelican Publishing, 1957; p. 167; California State Library Sutro, F377 S134 B6; the 1766 census of St. James, LA. Marguerite ARSENAUD, age 31 [so born around 1735], wife of Pierre BERNARD, listed with him and three children on the left bank of the Mississippi River. They have no slaves, 4 arpents of land, and one gun. Entered as Pier BERNAR [sic], with his wife and six children on the List of French Acadians kept prisoner by the British at Halifax, dated 12 Aug 1763.
