Perhaps no message has been flashed over the wire that carried so much unalloyed joy as the above, recently. The generation has not gone to seed, no indeed; we are all agreed that we will never secede. Sure, it would have been a great joy should it only have been a boy; we can never replete the ranks of the Democratic cranks, if the stork continues tricky in sending suffragettes when we need supporters of Old Hickory. The Solid South is busted, Democracy is disgusted and we can never more be trusted if this continues. Now Mr. Levi arises from his sleep, an imaginary vigil to keep, and amid the sweet aroma of paragoric and catnip tea, he is a comic cuss to see as he walks, walks, walks, and talks, talks, talks about the third generation he will shortly see. Oh, yes, grandma is simply beside herself with joy; grandpaw, he wanted a boy---a mere whim, a toy. For me, it is a she, for don't you see what a comfort it will be to dress and caress the little dear in the sweet bye and bye.I don't know what in what newspaper this appeared; probably in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania, but perhaps in Grove City.
