Petition of Margaret Porter of Portsmouth, whose husband John Porter had gone to Pettyquamscut [a large purchase from various Indians made by John Porter and 4 others that is now Place:South Kingstown, Washington, Rhode Island, United States ] leaving her without support, asking that her husband be made to provide for her. Court voided and blocked all his conveyances [specifically excepting one involving the Governor - this was before equality under the law] until he made proper provision for support of "this poor anciante matron". This impediment was released on 27 Jun 1665, "as he had made a proper provision for his wife and one which satisfied her" [citing Austin - presumably Source:Austin, John Osborne.
