Margaret McKittrick was the daughter of Robert McKittrick and Jane Armstrong. Robert McKittrick and Jane were residents of Augusta Co., VA and Margaret was probably born there. Margaret died after 1841 probably near Decatur, OH.

The origin of the McKittrick Family is unknown, but it is certainly either Scottish or Irish. The earliest Armstrong in this line is Thomas Armstrong (m. Mary Ann Lafferty). The Armstrongs are Scottish and the Lafferty Family is Irish.
