From Kathie Weigel: Margaret Ling, daughter of Conrad, married Wm Cartwright of Frankstow n. The following is from an email to me by Phillis Winthurst, who has do ne research on Conrad. On my hunch I asked her to see if Wm Cartwrigh t's wife was Conrad's daughter: Got the Death Certificate for Mrs. Margaret Cartwright today in the mai l. She was born 14 July 1832; died 21 April 1915 at 82y 9m 7d, a widow. H er parents were Conrad Ling and Mary Ickes - that solves a mystery of h er mother. Lots of Ickes in Bedford CO at that time. Margaret di ed of Senile Gangrene (probably diabetic). Information on the death certi ficate was supplied by Mrs. G. W. Reed, FrankstownPA - perhaps a daughte r? Margaret was buried on 23 April 1915 in the Geeseytown Cemetery. The 1870 census for Frankstown (p. 276B) shows Wm Cartwright, age 3 0, Margaret, age 40, Henry, age 9, Mary, age 7, Harry, age 4, and Ida, a ge 3 months, b. in April. The 1880 census of Frankstown (ED 165, Sh. 20) shows Wm Cartwright, a ge 48, Margaret age 48, Mary, age 17, Harry, age 14, Ida, age 10 and Willi am, age 7. Sep 1880 m. 28 Dec 1904 George Alexander Beard The death of Henry Lloyd is from the Geeseytown Cemetery Record (BCGS--unp ublished). The marriages of Mary, Harry, Ida and Lillie are all record ed in the Duncansville Lutheran Church records. Wm Cartwright, husband of Margaret Ling, is buried at the Geeseyto wn cemetery, dates given as 1832-1912. |
