Margaret S. Crumrine, age 92, of Marshall, died at Best Care East on Friday, December 14, 2012.
Margaret Kraushaar was born on January 1, 1920 in Marshall to Lloyd J. Kraushaar and Minnie Z. (Marquardt) Kraushaar. She has lived in Marshall all of her life. Margaret graduated with the Marshall High School Class of 1938. After high school graduation she worked as a Deputy Clerk for the City of Marshall at City Hall. Later in life she worked as the secretary for Zion Lutheran Church.
In 1944 Margaret met William M. Crumrine on a blind date. The couple married on April 8, 1945 at Zion Lutheran Church. They enjoyed a loving and fruitful marriage until Bill's death on October 29, 1999.
She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church. She played bridge with her friends over decades of her life. Margaret was an Election Worker for the City of Marshall and was a familiar sight at Sherman School when it was a polling site. She and Bill put in and kept a large garden behind their home every year. Many raspberries were served at Win Schuler's Restaurant from the Crumrine raspberry patch over the years! She loved sewing clothes and doing needlework. She was an avid walker well into her older years!
Surviving were her daughter, Carol S. Moore and her sons James W. Crumrine and Daniel M. (Denise) Crumrine all of Marshall, her 4 grandchildren Amanda S. Moore Amstrong, Andrew R. Moore, Tyler D. Crumrine and Jacob L. Crumrine; a great-grandchild Owen Racine Armstrong, her sister and brother-in-law Betty and Ivan Fleser of Marshall, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Arby Kraushaar , LaVerne Kraushaar and Robert Kraushaar and her sister Helen Stout.
