LANCASTER COUNTY, VA ca 1739. Margaret Hill married Thomas Flowrane. No extant marriage bond in Lancaster County or Northumberland County. 8 AUG 1739. James Hill and Elizabeth his wife, gift of 25 acres to their daughter Margaret Flowrane and Thomas Flowrane, her husband, for love and affection, on the river side of Back Cove. James and Elizabeth both sign by signature. Witnessed by John Wood and Temperance Cornelius. (Lancaster Co., VA DW 13, p. 141 13 JUN 1740. Margaret Flowrane granted administration on the estate of Thomas Flowrane, deceased. (COB 8, p. 276.) 15 JUL 1740. Per court order of 13 JUN 1740, Inventory of Thomas Flowrane made by William Edmonds, Richard Curtis and Thomas Yerby. Presented by Margaret Flowrane (signs by mark) and recorded 11 JUL 1740 [sic]. (DW 13:281) 10 AUG 1740. Additional inventory of Thomas Flowrane taken, presented to court and recorded. (DW 13:304). She supposedly sold the land given to her by her father to John Hill, Sr. per an 1805 deed from two of the latter's daughters to John Hill, Jr. This coincided with the death the parties brother, James Hill.
