After the death of James in 1908, she moved to the Hepburn Farm where she died in June 1920.

"Margaret was known as "Aunty Burgher", many people never knowing her first name, and truly she was an Aunt to every child and grown person she met for she entered into their confidence and from that time became to them a true friend. She was a semi invalid most of her life.
