She was born in 1806 in Warren Co., Kentucky. She was the daughter of David Heffington (1777 Va-1858 Ark) & Dorothea Lowe Heffington (1780 NC-1851 Ark). She was the first wife of James P. McBride & they were married on Jan.27,1824 in Lauderdale Co., Ala. He was the son of James A. McBride (1776 Va-1841 Ky) & Mary Ann Harrelson (1780 Va-1841 Ky). James P. & Margaret McBride were the parents of 8 children born in Alabama & Arkansas. The children were: John A., Nancy L., Margaret L., Riley (Rillie), James H., Louisa, Lavinia & Abner. Abner is also buried here. She died about May 1845 in Yell Co., Ark. (Alt. death date - 24 Jun 1845)
