Mrs. Maggie M. Brown, 92, Chicago, mother of Mrs. Walter Sayre, Milton, died Tuesday in her home in Chicago after a short illness.
Funeral services are to be held Thursday morning in Chicago and burial will be here in the Milton cemetery at approximately 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
Mrs. Brown, of 1924 Farwell Ave., Chicago, was born in West Hallock, Ill, on May 10, 1874, the eldest child of Eugene and Marian Rankin Hakes.
She came to Milton Academy in 1892 and while in Milton she met her future husband, Linn H. Brown. They were married in 1894 and settled in Chicago.
Surviving are three children, James of Highland Park, Ill., Marian Cochran of Chicago, and Mrs. Margaret Sayre of Milton; five grand-children and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her brother, Herbert Hakes of Peoria, Ill., and her sister, Geneva Hummel of Boulder, Colo.
Services Thursday were to be held from the Hamann Funeral Home, 6956 N. Clark St., Chicago, with the burial service here in the afternoon.
