Married Johan Daniel Miesse (b. 28 Jan 1743 in Elsoff, Wittgenstein, Germany) in 1773 (probably in Claytown, Berks Co., Pennsylvania). Daniel Miesse signed Oath of Allegiance between May and Sep. 1778. DAR documents describe him as being 6'4" and having been wounded by Indians. Daniel Miesse was one of twelve soldiers chosen by Gen. Washington to keep the fires lit during the crossing of the Delaware that surprised the Hessians.
