Margaret Dingley was baptised on 31st January 1772 at Cropthorne in Worcestershire, daughter of Mary Dingley, formerly Loxley, and her husband Samuel Dingley, a yeoman. The family lived at Charlton in Cropthorne parish.

On 16th January 1800, aged about 28, Margaret was married at Cropthorne to her cousin, Robert Dingley, who was son of Samuel's brother Edward. Robert worked as a wheelwright. He had spent part of his childhood in Cropthorne, but at the time of their marriage he was living at North Littleton, about five miles to the east.

Just three months after their marriage Margaret gave birth to a boy, but died shortly afterwards. She was buried at Cropthorne on 25th April 1800, aged 28. The following day her son, also called Robert, was baptised at North Littleton. Margaret's parents both survived her. When her father wrote his will in 1801 he left £10 for Margaret's son Robert.
