- ↑ The English sources, in combination, suggest that her name was Mary Ann Jackson, while the name given for her on her daughter's death registration in Victoria, Australia is Margaret Brown. Note also that Margaret Laidler's parents-in-law, James and Isabella Laidler, were living in East Murton in 1851 (see Person:James Laidler (1)), making it more plausible that the Lambs living there at the same time were Margaret Laidler's parents. Note also the 80 year old Jake Jackson living with the Lambs in 1841 - possibly Mary Lamb's father.

Even accepting her alternate name as valid, there are a variety of birth years implied by the various sources cited here, from around 1801 to around 1806.
