In Montgomery Co, PA there is currently an Upper Providence Twp & a Lower Providence Twp; it would seem logical that at some point the two were conjoined as "Providence Twp"; could not find exact confirmation. Port Providence is a community now in Upper Providence Twp, Providence Forge seems to be an area in name only, now contained within Royersford, PA. Providence Forge Rd runs through Royersford.
