Per Don Butterfield June 2008: I respected his training in 1960 and hired him as an Assistant Quality Control Director of the Summers Gyroscope Company in Santa Monica...Took over that company as my first civilian assignment, 1959, at the direction of The Atlas Corporation that hired me out of the USAF. Malin did a superb job and was promoted before I left Summers, when I sold the company to Guidance Technology, Inc. He was a credit to the Quality Assurance Electronics of the early days of formal Electronics 1960. I, unfortunately, never saw him again.

Many times today I have found myself going over remembrances of the See Family. I knew Malin from Santa Monica and Jerden, only as a crying infant baby in Iowa at our home in Manchester...other than that I spent less an hour with him as a young man. During the Depression Uncle Walter See, Aunt Madge and newborn Jereden had to come to live with us for over a year...as architects were unemployable. I have always had the greatest respect for Uncle Walter and his genius architectual talent. In 1932 the Sees left for California, where our Dear Lord placed him, right after the Big Earthquake...He Immediately succeeded and was greatly recognized for his work, even well after WW2, when I caught up with them in San Diego, Convair in 1954 after Korea. We lived in San Diego for 15 months where I was stationed at the factory for the start of the 102 program. We had bi-weekly, the most wild and wonderful times for over a year with those two...in Tijuana, Ensenada, the Rose Bowl New Years and San Diego. Aunt Madge hought "I hung the Moon"and she had loosened up Staid Uncle Walter a great deal over the years...we would go to Tijuana at midnite to the Jai Alai Fronton where she and I would ance on the tables...Walter was still being written up and lauded for his work on a very famous church on the ocean front and his earth quake designs...we did not see the boys during that period and I never saw Jerden again.
