Madge C Wardwell, 77, died July 26, 2002, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Aug. 10, 1924, in Bucksport, the daughter of Charles and Nina (Robinson) Coffin. Madge graduated from Bucksport High School, Class of 1941 and from Beals Business College in 1942. She enjoyed her family and all of nature's animals including the birds and squirrels. Madge is survived by her children, Richard Wardwell and his wife, Annemarie Nina of Charleston, S.C. and their children, Stephanie and Terissa, Kathleen Wardwell of Enfield, N.H., Judith Wardwell of Brighton, Mich., Wallace "Ed" Wardwell Jr. and his wife, Joan of Penobscot and their children, Ariana and Heather, Patricia Wardwell and her husband, Thomas Barkovic III of Bedford, Mass. and their children, Thomas IV and Eliakim; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Wallace E. Wardwell Sr. in 1992; and three sisters and two brothers. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at the Castine Cemetery, Castine. Donations in her memory may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine, 87 Elm St., Suite 203, Camden, ME 04843; or the Penobscot Fire Department, Building Fund, Penobscot, ME 04476.
