OBITUARY FROM BURLINGTON TIMES-NEWS: Mrs.. Mabel Thompson Graves GRAHAM — Mrs.. Mabel Thompson Graves, 86, of The Hawfields Presbyterian Home died at 6:05 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several months of failing health. She was a former resident of 6940 Mount Hermon-Rock Creek Road, Snow Camp. A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Howard Woods Graves and the daughter of Mr. Harrison Thompson and Mrs.. Elsie Allen Thompson, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a member of Rock Creek United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Miss Myra Lynn Graves of Burlington; four sisters, Mrs.. Opal Isley and Mrs.. Cora Gibson, both of Snow Camp, Mrs.. Betty Pollock of Woodstown, N.J., and Mrs.. Joanna Erwin of Burlington; and a brother, Mr. Russel K. Thompson of Graham. She was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Scottie Hal Graves; and two sisters, Mrs.. Christine McPherson and Mrs.. Louise Stout. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rock Creek United Methodist Church cemetery by the Rev. Nancy Sturdivant. The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 6 to 8 this evening. Memorials may be made to Ralph Scott Life Services, 408 Trade St., Burlington, N.C. 27217. References
