Mabel M. Luce (1892-1961). She was crippled in infancy when she was dropped as her mother was handing her down from a horse to one of the hired hands. She never married.

The 1900 census shows her living in Kemmerer, Wyoming with her grandfather John Doran.

"Word from Mrs. Tarter, who is spending the winter away, has been received, stating she was enjoying California at present and trips on the Pacific ocean. A trip of 600 miles by boat was made on the S. S. Bear, from San Francisco to Los Angeles recently. Mention was also made of Mabel Luce, daughter of Mrs. Dot Luce, who has been in Denver for several years for treatment, being taken to San Francisco, in the hopes of benefitting her health." In 1920 and 1930 she was an inmate at the Sonoma State Home in California.
