Obituary S8 Mabel Areta Blasdel was born Aug. 28, 187(4) and departed this life Dec. 7, 1899, aged 25 years 3 months 10 days.

At the age of 16 years she graduated from the public schools in district No. 6, Lawrenceburg township, and on her 18th birthday passed successfully to examination for license to teach in the common schools of Dearborn county, after which she taught for three years in sucession.

She was converted to Christ during the revival meeting at the Presbyterian church in the winter of '95, afterward uniting with the M. E. Church at Bright and ever rested upon the promises of God, reading his word dialy and talking with her initmate friends of the joy and confort she found therein.

She was married to James Sykes June 10, 1896. Two children were born to them. The bereaved husband has the deepest sympathy of many friends in this hour of greatest sorrow.

Mabel was of a kind and loving disposition which endeared her to all who knew her. She was an obedient daughter [and] a faithful friend.

[She poc]essed a keem intest in mis-[ssions] and all other benevolent [ ] church and when in health [was a regu]lar attendant at Sunday [chu]rch services. In her [ ]the saying that "Death [ ]" and her untimely [ ] hearts of a host [ ] they sorrow. [ ] ,for even [ ]are sustained by [mem]ory of her life and the [re]union in the blessed beyond.
