JONESBORO---Lynn Michie Conrad, 93, passed away Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 9, 2007 at the home of her daughter-in-law following a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her son, Michie Barber; and her husband, Dewey Conrad.
Mrs. Conrad served as the cook at Kindercare from 1970-78, then became the cook at The Children's House Montessori School, serving for 25 years before retiring. She was a member of St. Bernards Auxiliary and worked in the gift shop.
She is survived by a son and his wife, James O. and Pat Barber of Tyler, Texas; her daughter-in-law, Rosalie Barber of Jonesboro; four grandchildren and their spouses, Allyson and Dave Goodin of Wynne, Chris and Michelle Barber of Jonesboro, Robin and Mark Hallin of Tyler and Jackie and Jon Avery of Dallas; seven great-grandchildren; a sister; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be sent to St. Bernards Hospice or St. Bernards Development Foundation, 915 Wilkins Ave., Jonesboro 72401.
A private family graveside service will be held Thursday afternoon at Cooter, Mo., under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
No visitation is planned.
